Q: Must a FH provide a copy of the GPL when requested by phone or email?
A: No. The FTC Funeral Rule only requires funeral homes to distribute a GPL if there is a face-to-face discussion involving funeral prices, arrangements, services or goods. Therefore, you are not required to mail or fax your GPL to a concierge service or anyone else who calls and requests a price list. It is up to you to determine whether you want to honor that request, but you are not required to do so.
Q: Must a funeral director provide price information in response to an email inquiry?
A: No. The FTC Funeral Rule only covers price inquiries by telephone or in person. Funeral directors are not required to respond to email inquiries.
