New York State Funeral Directors Association

Gov. Andrew Cuomo has requested flags be lowered to half-staff starting Wednesday, July 24 in honor of former New York City District Attorney Robert Morgenthau, who died Sunday, July 21 at age 99.

Morgenthau, a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, became the longest serving district attorney in New York County and also served as United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York.

A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, July 25, according to an obituary.
