We inform our members constantly in a variety
of ways, including our first-rate monthly newsletter
and a fully functional website (www.nysfda.org)
that provide members with exclusive information
and consumers with the names and service areas
of our member firms. We also operate a high-speed
alert broadcast fax system to keep our members
“in the loop” on the latest happenings
requiring their immediate attention.
NYSFDA’s Public/Media Relations Program
presents a positive image of funeral service
to the media and consumers and responds immediately
to any questionable media stories. We produce
news releases with information about NYSFDA
activities, programs and issues that are placed
directly in the hands of newspaper, radio, television,
cable and website reporters.
Since 2006, we generated articles that appeared in newspapers with a combined circulation of more than 5,621,209 and secured numerous radio and television interviews for our member spokespersons.
NYSFDA also issues “Transitions,”a
consumer information column by our executive director, Bonnie McCullough, that
regularly appears in newspapers, senior publications
and on selected websites.
In addition, our members have a strong commitment
to service. NYSFDA is proud that they stepped
forward to provide important and timely information
to the families of the World Trade Center disaster’s victims,
as well as facilitated final disposition operations
in the Flight 800 (Long Island) and Flight 587
(Queens) airline crashes.
