New York State Funeral Directors Association

ALBANY, NY (September 18, 2018) - The New York State Funeral Directors Association Inc. (NYSFDA) has scheduled a Webinar for 1 p.m. Monday, October 1 focused on the World Trade Center Health Program. (WTCHP).

Funeral Directors who assisted in recovery efforts after the 9/11 attacks may qualify for medical benefits through the World Trade Center Health Program.

WTCHP provides annual medical monitoring exams and medical and mental health treatment for certified WTC-related health conditions.

The program also provides social service assistance to 9/11 rescue, recovery, restoration and cleanup workers and volunteers (responders).

Mount Sinai, an approved WTCHP medical provider, has confirmed with NYSFDA that funeral directors should qualify if they were doing rescue and recovery work south of Canal Street, at the Staten Island Landfill, Barge Loading Piers, as well as at the temporary morgues at Bellevue and Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

The Webinar will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, October 1.
